Terms of Service
Last updated: August 6, 2026 · Applies to extension version 1.7.3
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Save Image As Type browser extension (the "Extension"), this website, and the Pro license (collectively, the "Service"), provided by PreppHint (operating as Nixologic) ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
The Extension converts and saves images from web pages into other formats, and provides related image tools that run inside your browser. Free features are available at no cost and without an account. "Pro" features are unlocked by purchasing a license.
Free includes: saving as JPG, PNG and WebP (HEIC/HEIF sources are decoded and converted too), hover dimensions, save history up to 50 entries, themes, and the save menu and core prompts in 53 languages.
Pro additionally includes: AVIF and PDF export, animated GIF → animated WebP, per-format quality with lossless WebP and progressive JPEG, the crop & save editor (annotation, step numbers, blur/pixelate redaction, aspect locks, multi-crop ZIP), on-device AI background removal, side-by-side format comparison, multi-format ZIP and batch "save all images", resize on save, filename templates and per-format subfolders, per-site overrides, and save history up to 500 entries with thumbnails, search and bulk re-save.
Feature sets evolve between releases. We may add, change or retire individual features; see section 13.
2. Local processing
All image processing — decoding, encoding, resizing, cropping, annotation, redaction, ZIP packaging and AI background removal — happens locally in your browser. We do not receive, host, store or process the images you work with, and we claim no rights over them. Because processing is local, the results depend on your device and browser; see sections 10 and 12. How we handle the limited data we do receive is described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Pro plans & licensing
Pro unlocks the Extension's paid features under one of two plans, both non-transferable and non-exclusive, for personal or internal business use:
Monthly subscription. Billed at $1.99 per month (plus any applicable taxes). Your subscription renews automatically each month and your payment method will be charged the then-current monthly fee until you cancel. You may cancel at any time from your account dashboard or via the link in your Paddle receipt; cancellation stops future renewals, and your Pro access continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. Partial periods are not pro-rated except where required by law or our Refund Policy.
Lifetime license. A one-time purchase ($19, plus any applicable taxes) granting a perpetual ("lifetime") license to the Pro features, including future Pro features released for the product. "Lifetime" refers to the supported lifetime of the product; it is not a guarantee of indefinite availability. There is no recurring charge and nothing to cancel.
We may change plan pricing on a forward-looking basis. A price change never affects a Lifetime license you have already bought. Any change to your recurring subscription price will be communicated before it takes effect, and you may cancel if you do not agree to the new price.
4. Free trial
The monthly plan starts with a 7-day free trial. You provide a payment method at checkout but are not charged during the trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid monthly subscription and your payment method is charged the then-current monthly fee, and monthly thereafter until you cancel.
Cancel at any point during the trial — from your dashboard or the link in your Paddle email — and you will not be charged. Pro access ends when the trial period ends. Trials are limited to one per customer and per payment method; we may decline or end a trial where we reasonably believe it is being used repeatedly to obtain free access. The Lifetime plan is a direct purchase and has no trial.
5. Device limit
A single Pro license may be active on up to three (3) devices or browser profiles at a time, across any Chromium-based browsers you use. Your dashboard shows the devices in use and lets you revoke one to free a slot. Attempting to circumvent the device limit or license verification, or sharing your account credentials so that others use your license, is a breach of these Terms.
Verifying your license requires an internet connection and a signed-in account. Pro state is cached so short offline periods are fine, but sustained inability to verify may cause Pro features to lock until you reconnect.
6. Payments, taxes & Merchant of Record
Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record for your purchase. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms. Prices are shown in your local currency where supported, and applicable taxes are calculated and displayed at checkout. Charges may appear on your statement as Nixologic or Paddle. If you choose the monthly subscription, you authorise Paddle to charge your payment method the monthly fee on a recurring basis — including at the end of any free trial — until you cancel. If a renewal payment fails, Paddle may retry it; Pro access may be suspended until payment succeeds.
7. Refunds
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on both the monthly and Lifetime plans, as described in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. A refunded license — including a refunded Lifetime license — is deactivated when the refund is issued.
8. Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of the email address you sign in with and for keeping access to it secure, since sign-in is by Google account or emailed magic link. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission. You may request deletion of your account at any time; deleting your account also ends any active Pro license, and deletion is not itself a refund request.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) reverse engineer, resell, sublicense or redistribute the Service except as permitted by law; (b) use the Service to infringe others' intellectual property or to process content you have no right to process, including but not limited to: using the batch-save or "save all images" feature to harvest copyrighted images from stock photography services (such as Getty Images, Shutterstock, or Adobe Stock) without authorisation; or downloading, converting, or saving any content in violation of the terms of service of the originating website; (c) use the Service to remove, obscure or circumvent watermarks, credits or other rights-management information — the editor, background removal and redaction tools are not licensed for that purpose; (d) interfere with or circumvent security or licensing mechanisms, or use automation to place load on a website beyond ordinary personal use of the batch tools (batch saving is capped at 100 images per page); (e) use the Service to process unlawful content, or content depicting minors in any sexualised way.
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any images you process and for how you use the resulting files.
10. Editor, redaction & AI background removal
The crop & save editor, its blur and pixelate redaction tools and the AI background removal feature are provided as convenience tools with no warranty of accuracy or completeness.
- Redactions are applied to the pixels of the exported file, so the original content is not carried into the saved image. Even so, redaction is a visual technique: you must review any file yourself before publishing or disclosing it, and you must not rely on this feature alone where legal, regulatory or forensic obligations apply.
- AI background removal is an automated estimate produced by a model bundled with the Extension. Results vary with the image and are not guaranteed to be accurate or usable for any particular purpose.
- Annotations exist only in the open editor tab and are lost if it is closed or reloaded before saving. Save your work; we cannot recover it.
11. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design and trademarks, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. These Terms grant you a limited license to use the Service, not ownership of it. Open-source components — including the WebAssembly encoders and the background-removal model and runtime — are used under their respective licenses. You keep all rights in the images you process; we acquire none.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every website, image, browser version or operating system. Format support (for example AVIF encoding or animated WebP) depends on capabilities in your browser that are outside our control, and some websites actively prevent their images from being read.
13. Changes to features
We develop the Extension continuously and may add, change or remove individual features between releases, including features currently described as Pro. Where a change materially reduces the core value of a paid plan we will give reasonable notice, and holders of a Lifetime license affected by such a change may contact us. Browsers may also force changes on us by removing platform capabilities.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits or goodwill — including any loss arising from a file that was saved, converted, redacted or edited other than as you intended. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid for the Pro license in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms (for example, abusing the licensing system or section 9). You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the Extension; for the monthly plan, uninstalling does not cancel your subscription — cancel it from your dashboard or Paddle receipt. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
16. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at our place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country apply.
